Аналіз агробізнесу на ринку нішевих зернових культур

Abstract

Метою дослідження була перевірка гіпотези про наявні резерви та перспективи розвитку виробництва і торгівлі у сегменті нішевих зернових культур, які є елементом глобальної продовольчої безпеки та потужним інструментом диверсифікації агробізнесу. У статті досліджено динаміку світових ринків гречки, жита, вівса і проса та виявлено позитивні тренди на збільшення обсягів їх вирощування та імпорту за період 2019-2023 років. Це свідчить про високу адаптивність та стійкість нішевих зернових культур до кризових умов. Встановлено, що низькі ціни виробництва гречки, жита, вівса і проса в Україні, як ознаки недотримання агротехнологічних вимог, призводять до низької урожайності та втрат доходів від експорту. Обґрунтовано, що збільшення попиту на нішеві зернові культури з боку країн-імпортерів дозволить розширити ринкову нішу українських виробників. Для цього рекомендовано впровадження найкращих практик від топових країн-експортерів, таких як цифрові технології, методи точного землеробства, інноваційний менеджмент, раціональне ресурсозабезпечення та вирощування новітніх сортів гречки, жита, вівса і проса з поліпшеними поживними характеристиками та підвищеною стійкістю до зміни клімату. Niche crops are a key element in building a much more resilient and diversified global food system that addresses the current challenges of climate change, population growth, and the urgency of developing sustainable farming. The study was based on available data from the official statistics on the world agriculture for 2019-2023. The methodological foundation of the research included elements of descriptive statistics, methods of ranking, and comparative analysis. The study results confirmed the hypothesis of positive dynamics of production and trade development in the niche grain crops segment in 2019- 2023. The research findings revealed a global growth in the cultivation of oats, rye, and millet, with an outpacing increase in imports, despite the crisis conditions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and Russia's prolonged military aggression against Ukraine. The largest rise in production was observed for buckwheat, which is known for its excellent nutritional value. The countries’ participation in export-import transactions varied by crop, with the greatest diversification for oats and millet. Whereas the narrowest representation was found in the case of rye. Similar natural conditions with the world traders allow us to conclude that Ukrainian farmers have significant reserves to fulfill the export potential of niche grain crops on the global market. The study proved that the current low sales prices stem from non-compliance with production technologies and result in low yields of oats, buckwheat, rye and millet in Ukraine. The recommended digital technologies, precision farming methods, innovative management, rational resource provision, and cultivation of new crop varieties with improved nutritional characteristics and increased resistance to climate change can ensure the sustainable development of niche grain production in Ukraine. There are plans to continue further research by expanding the time frame and specifying effective world innovations for their implementation in Ukrainian agribusiness engaged in growing and trading niche grain crops.
