Порівняльний аналіз диверсифікації агробізнесу нішевих зернових культур

Abstract

Для забезпечення продовольчої безпеки необхідно підтримувати сталий розвиток агробізнесу, особливо при вирощуванні зернових культур. Диверсифіковане стале виробництво значно знижує ризики діяльності аграріїв, зокрема під час війни. У статті досліджено динаміку вирощування гречки, жита, вівса і проса за період 2020-2023 років, їх посівні площі, урожайності та загальні обсяги виробництва. Виконано порівняльний аналіз економічної ефективності нішевих та топових зернових культур України. Встановлено, що розглянуті нішеві зернові культури мають суттєвий потенціал щодо посилення продовольчої безпеки України та, у разі експорту, можуть зробити істотний внесок до глобальної продовольчої безпеки. Обґрунтовані економічні, соціальні та екологічні переваги та рекомендовано диверсифіковане виробництво гречки, жита, вівса і проса, що поліпшить розвиток підприємств аграрного сектору економіки. The production of grain crops is a leading factor in ensuring food security both globally and on the scale of Ukraine. Grain crops are used for food and fodder purposes, due to which the demand for grain is constantly growing in the world. The cultivation of grain crops is negatively affected by numerous natural, climatic and economic risks, not to mention the additional risks caused by Russia's military aggression against Ukraine. Diversification of grain production is one of the powerful ways to reduce risks. Besides, it will contribute to the sustainable development of national agriculture and allow small farmers to be profitable and competitive in grain markets. Biodiversity and diversification can be supported by increasing the cultivation of niche cereals. The article has examined the dynamics of growing buckwheat, rye, oats and millet for the period of 2020-2023. According to the official statistics, the study has analyzed their sown areas, yields and total volumes of production. The research findings have revealed an increase in the relative weight of agricultural land under buckwheat and oats. To some extent, it happened at the expense of rye and millet. The study has recorded positive trends in gross harvests and productivity of buckwheat. The rest of the crops showed unstable indicators. A comparison of the economic efficiency of niche and traditional top grain crops of Ukraine has been carried out. It was inferred that the considered niche crops have significant potential and are attractive for export to many countries in Europe. This is because they have high nutritional qualities, are less demanding for applying fertilizers and pesticides, more resistant to adverse weather conditions, are able to improve the soil structure. It has been substantiated that the diversified production of buckwheat correlates with the economic sustainability of agricultural enterprises. The cultivation of rye and millet will definitely strengthen their ecological sustainability. Meanwhile the production of oats will improve the social pillar of sustainable development in Ukrainian agriculture.
