Milk productivity and physiological development of cows across different lactation periods

Abstract

The indicators of milk productivity and features of physiological development of Ukrainian Red Dairy cows in the conditions of the Steppe zone of Ukraine were investigated on the example of the farm "Maksym B" in the Dnipropetrovsk region. The dynamics of milk yields, fat and protein content, as well as the live weight of animals during the first, second, and third lactations were analyzed. It was established that the use of crossbred animals obtained by crossing Red Steppe and Holstein breeds ensures high productivity and adaptability to environmental conditions. A clear pattern of increasing milk yields with age was revealed: the highest indicators were recorded in cows of the III lactation and older, which exceeded the performance of first-calf heifers by 15.3%. It was proved that across all age groups, the cows of the studied herd exceed the breed standard in terms of productivity. The results of the study confirm the effectiveness of the chosen breeding strategy for the intensification of dairy cattle breeding under the conditions of intensive farming in the Steppe. Досліджено показники молочної продуктивності та особливості фізіологічного розвитку корів української червоної молочної породи в умовах Степової зони України на прикладі ФГ «Максим Б» Дніпропетровської області. Проаналізовано динаміку надоїв, вмісту жиру та білка в молоці, а також живої маси тварин першої, другої та третьої лактацій. Встановлено, що використання помісних тварин, отриманих від схрещування червоної степової та голштинської порід, забезпечує високу продуктивність та адаптивність до умов навколишнього середовища. Виявлено чітку закономірність зростання надоїв із віком тварин: найвищі показники зафіксовано у корів III лактації і старше, які на 15,3% перевищили показники первісток. Доведено, що за всіма віковими групами корови досліджуваного стада перевищують стандарт породи за продуктивністю. Результати дослідження підтверджують ефективність обраного напряму селекції для інтенсифікації молочного скотарства в умовах інтенсивного землеробства Степу.
