Some aspects of specialised texts translation

Abstract

Although it is the most common and frequent type of translation performed nowadays in the world, specialised translation, i.e. the translation of texts produced within or referring to a specialist field of knowledge or activity, has mostly been allotted a second-rate status within the discipline of translation studies. Seen as far less creative, noble, and glamorous than its traditional counterpart, i.e. literary translation, specialised translation has been associated with rather negative features, being directly or indirectly described as an automatic, restricted, and often tedious process. Хоча це найпоширеніший і частий вид перекладу який зараз виконується у світі, спеціалізований переклад, тобто переклад текстів створений в межах спеціальної галузі знань чи діяльності або пов’язаній із нею, переважно надається другорядний статус у перекладознавчій дисципліні. Розглядається як набагато менш творчий, шляхетний і гламурний, ніж його традиційний аналог, тобто літературний переклад, спеціальний переклад був пов'язаний з досить негативними рисами, прямо чи опосередковано описаний як автоматичний, обмежений і часто виснажливий процес.
